This will make you want to listen to Riot Act:
Riot Act was Pearl Jam's seventh studio album and was released in 2002, pretty much their half way point as of this writing. Riot act is a great album because it does have a more mature sound. It was also released during a challenging time in American history and in a post 9/11 world, Bushleaguer hit the fan base with some mixed results. Ultimately, the PJ fan community has either held it up as a brave expression of artistic freedom and truth (if you agree with the politics), or been ceremoneously ignored by those who are uncomfortable with the sentiment.
Songs like I Am Mine, Thumbing My Way, and Love Boat Captain make this one a winner in my book.

I love this CD. It keeps coming back - lots of goodies on there that seem to only get better with age, like Eddie's wine collection.
ReplyDelete"Love is a tower" : You Are. I kinda hoped they'd do more of that kind of stuff on later records. Still do. It's like.. the fantasy rock of PJ, almost like LotR-influenced or something. Cool, regardless.
