Pearl Jam - Climbing, stage diving, crowd surfing...

Among the million reasons we love Pearl Jam, these crazy antics are at the top of the list.  Although the boys have tempered a bit in recent years, the spirit and excitement of their live shows is better than ever.  We're less than a week away from the 2014 Fall tour.  I hope to see you on the road!

Pearl Jam to play Bridge School 2014

PJ has a long history of supporting "Uncle Neil" and his passion project, The Bridge School.  Check out a few other pages (tearjerker alert) showing the bands involvement with the organization over the years.

Adam Levine does an Eddie Vedder impression on Jimmy Falon

I never thought I'd have the lyrics to "Muffin Man" stuck in my head all day! Fast forward this clip to 4:30 for a laugh as Adam Levine does an impression of Eddie Vedder singing Muffin Man.  Both stars are well known Pearl Jam fans which makes it that much more fun.

Pearl Jam - Cold Confession - Demo Avocado

Although this one hit the cutting room floor when Avocado came out, I find it to be one of the hardest hitting songs of the Pearl Jam collection.  If only the records could just be longer!  Enjoy.

He scared himself into a trance
Ducking down rivers, secretly
He floated out into the ocean
Of his worst dream, of his rough sea?
Of all the men he could trust
He was not one of them, always hurting himself
This scars and seams, the wounds are tone
Whatever time had healed, it's still too cold
A life washed away, like words in the sand
And when the high tide came, so went his brain
A troubled past, a troubled future
A troubled way leaning on a bar stool
When strobelight stop, he finally saw
Navigation towards a brand new course
But to himself the memory clear
Cold confession only, that only he could hear

He let himself scream, he let himself cry
Let himself reach the other side
There was no Christ, there was no cross
Just forgiveness, allowed himself
Accepted the past, then set it free
Oh and it ran off like an animal with ease
He holds the bruise?, he holds their star
In his pure arms, in his clear heart
He's safe now, he's back in her breast
He saw his path, and changed it, chased it, at last

The #ALS Ice Bucket Challenge!

I'm so excited that the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge has gone viral! Team Gleason was one of the first beneficiaries of The Five Horizons Foundation.  I had a chance to meet Steve and his wife in New Orleans last year and they were nothing short of inspirational people.  It's great to see Pearl Jam getting involved in the challenges!  McCready challenged the whole band so I'll post their videos here as they become available.

Some great stats about how this challenge has affected fundraising and awareness:

From July 29 to August 13, the national office of The ALS Association received $5.5 million compared with $32,000 in donations during the same time period last year. Association-wide (which includes national and chapter revenue), the organization has received $7.6 million compared to $1.4 million during the same time period last year (July 29 to August 13). These donations have come from 145,918 new donors to The Association. Locally, the Northern Ohio Chapter has seen a 30% increase in support since July 29, compared with the same time period last year, most of which has arrived in the past week.
