Made In America to be Fenced Off and filmed by Ron Howard

Check out a nice article about MIA from philebrity.com. The festival is just around the corner and I can't wait to meet a ton of Pearl Jam fans at the Wishlist Foundation pre party fundraiser.  If you haven't signed up (not required but appreciated) please shoot me an email and let me know you're coming. Details on the party here.

From philebrity.com:

"Labor Day weekend’s Made In America music festival promises to be … interesting. The paid event will be open (obviously) to ticket holders only, and fencing off the area and keeping non-ticket-holders out will be a bit of a nightmare in itself, we’re sure. In a press release issued today, the Mayor’s office said that performances on both days of the 2-day event will begin at 2PM and end at 11PM (or at least are “scheduled” to begin and end at those times, as we have never been to a concert than began or ended on time).

Venue construction will begin this Thursday and continue through August 30th, at which time road closures will go into effect (full map of street closures is here). As for police, “Three Philadelphia Police beacons will be positioned outside the festival, showing where Philadelphia Police Officers are deployed to assist festival goers. These beacons will be on the northeast corner of 17th Street and the Parkway, the southeast corner of 18th and the Parkway, and the western entrance to Logan Circle between 19th and 20th Streets.” We’re sure there’ll be a presence inside the festival itself, but those beacons seem situated kind of … far away, don’t they? And in the case of a Lollapalooza-like wash out, concertgoers are asked to sign up forReadyNotifyPA. And if all of that wasn’t mayhem enough, Ron Howard and Brian Grazer are taking a small break from the new episodes of Arrested Development that no one is excited for to produce a film on the festival. According to the NY Post, the duo are making a documentary about Jay-Z, to be directed by Howard, focusing on the festival."
