Times of Trouble vs. Footsteps

Take a listen to the songs below.  Sound similar (except the Lyrics)? This song was originally rehearsed by Chris Cornell and Temple of the Dog following the death of Andy Wood.  Once Vedder signed on and Pearl Jam was formed the song was recorded with the new words written by Eddie.  In addition to Alive, and Once, Footsteps was one of the three songs Eddie wrote from Southern California and submitted to the boys in Seattle to get into the band.  As Ed says in the PJ Twenty film, the sand was still between his toes from surfing as he wrote it.  It would later be released on the B side of Lost Dogs.  Which do you like better?
